If we have towed your vehicle, we want to help you recover your vehicle as quickly as possible. You must have the following items with you when picking up your vehicle from our facility:
· Proof of Ownership (Provide one the following)
1. At R & D Towing we make every effort to protect your personal property while it is on our lot. The following policies ensure that only the vehicle owner has access to the vehicle.
2. Current registration (Per state statutes we do pull for this information)
3. Title with your name printed on it. Open titles (a title that has been signed over to you but not registered at the DMV) will not be accepted.
4. If you are picking up a vehicle you have rented, we will obtain approval from the rental company to release the vehicle to the registered renter on file with the company.
· Photo Identification (Provide one of the following)
1. Current driver’s license (expired I.D. and or altered in any way will not be accepted)
2. Government identification cards (state or federal)
3. Picture identification cards generated by a reputable agency, i.e., DMV, banks, schools, employer, etc.
· Acceptable Form of Payment
1. Cash
2. Credit/Debit cards are no longer accepted for vehicles that have been impounded
3. Checks are no longer accepted for vehicles that have been impounded
4. Venders/auto auctions please contact us for payment options on impounded vehicles
Normal business hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday by appointment only, Saturday from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM by appointment only. Some vehicles may be picked up as late as 7:00 PM under special circumstances and must call ahead of time otherwise you will have to wait until the next business day during office hours. If you are not able to pick up the vehicle right away or if your insurance company is handling the disposal of the vehicle, you will be allowed one visit to the vehicle to retrieve personal property. You must complete a R & D Towing & Recovery Personal Property form to gain access to the vehicle, and you will be escorted by one of our employee’s while on the premises. The following items will not be removed from the vehicle:
1. Mounted speakers
2. Wired in products
3. Radio(s)/CD Players (factory or aftermarket)/cassette players/DVD players
4. Wheels/tires/rims
5. Anything wired and or permanently mounted or attached to the vehicle
6. Any part of the vehicle that aids in the operational functions of the vehicle
7. License plates may only be removed after payment arrangements have been finalized
***NO PICUTRES WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE TAKEN IN IMPOUND UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES***
If your loved one and or friend have their vehicle impounded but they are unable to retrieve said vehicle and you're handling it for them then you will need to fill this form out, so the registered owner releases all liability of the vehicle to you.
